A Look Inside Studio One
Our Clients
Studio One Pilates is designed to meet the needs of adults who lead regular lives as well as those who are seeking a very high level of performance. Studio One is not a place only for those who can touch their head to their knees! Don’t wait to get into better shape before starting your Pilates practice - we respect all levels of ability and fitness and we specialize in working with beginners.
The Studio One Difference
Specialization
Pilates uses a very powerful and specific technique. To maximize the benefits of your Pilates workout, proper technique and several not-so-easy to learn skills are essential. We specialize in teaching those skills.
Safety
Most of our classes have two instructors; one to lead the class, or the “Group Instructor,” and one to offer help and modifications, the “Private Instructor.” You may ask the private instructor for help at anytime.
Training
Our certified instructors have received from 100-300 hours of training before instructing at out studio. Many Pilates instructors have less than 6 hour of training focusing on the choreography of the exercises. At Studio One, we focus on a more comprehensive understanding of muscular and skeletal structure and how particular muscular engagements provide specific results.
The Class Progression: How to Continue
After you have completed your intro option (see Getting Started link), you are eleigible to begin attending regular group classes, which are listed on the Mat and Reformer schedule links. These classes have been specifically designed to create a natural progression from basic to advanced exercises. This helps to ensure both your safety and that you are able to achieve your maximum potential in meeting your goals. When you begin taking regular classes, we suggest that you begin with the Core Level classes before progressing to Level 1 and Level 2.
To achieve the maximum benefits and safety in your Pilates classes we suggest taking classes in the following order:
Class Level Progression
10 Core Level Mat Classes --->
10 Core Level Reformer Classes --->
10 Level 1 Mat Classes --->
10 Level 1 Reformer Classes --->
10 Level 2 Mat Classes --->
Level 2 Reformer Classes!!!!
What to Wear
Most importantly, wear something comfortable. Our clients can be seen in clothes ranging from brand name athletic pants and tops to sweatsuits. Wear clothing that does not constrict movement. Do not worry about your shoes as we ask that you remove them when you come in to ensure a clean environment to exercise in. Classes are generally done in socks or bare feet.
