Rolfing
Rolfing ® is a form of hands on therapy that focuses on structurally integrating the body. Named after its founder, Ida Rolf, Rolfing ® is a way to accomplish incredible changes in posture, alignment, and overall organization of the body structure. Rolfers ® work with the myofascial tissues to bring the body back into its proper alignment; this allows for a more stable and supported structure as well as more efficient use of the muscles and energy throughout day to day activities and extracurricular exercises among other benefits.
At Studio One Pilates, we currently have four certified Rolfers ® available for scheduling; Ed Toal, Ana Kokaurova, Jessica McKinley. and Elaine Rasher. Paul Van Alstine, the owner and founder of Studio One, started Rolfing ® in 1996 and realized that he wanted to find a way of reinforcing and creating the changes in structure and posture that Rolfing could make through exercise. After conducting tons of research and trying out various methods, Paul found that Pilates, when done right, could accomplish the same changes as Rolfing ® with more long term effects as well as reinforce and implement Rolfing ® .
Rolfing ® and Pilates together create the maximum way to reintegrate the body, allowing for a more supported, and tension and pain free lifestyle.
